Sandy Berman
Sandy Berman, the original founder of Berman Jewelers, began her entrepreneurial journey in 1976. While raising her young children, she founded her own insurance business, demonstrating an early commitment to independence and hard work. In 1980, she relocated her insurance office to what is now the location of Berman Jewelers on Route 70.
After years of success in insurance, Sandy chose to follow her passion for jewelry. In 1985, she sold her insurance business and opened Berman Jewelers, turning her vision into reality. Determined to secure the right location, Sandy personally contacted the Fashion Square Shopping Center and persistently advocated for her business. Her efforts paid off, and she successfully obtained a lease, allowing her to open her jewelry store.
Berman Jewelers quickly distinguished itself through custom design and craftsmanship. Sandy employed three onsite jewelers, enabling the store to perform custom work and manufacture much of its own inventory, setting it apart for quality and personalization.
In 2008, Sandy relocated Berman Jewelers from the shopping center to its current location, continuing the legacy of excellence and personal service she had built over decades.
Outside of her professional life, Sandy enjoys the theater and spending time with her grandchildren, especially taking them shopping, a pastime that reflects her love of both family and fashion.

Fred Berman
Fred Berman began his career in the jewelry industry in 1963 at the age of 21, starting as a salesman in Barr’s Jewelers’ junior management program. During his first year, he gained a comprehensive education in all aspects of the jewelry business. In 1964, he was promoted and transferred to Miami, where he worked in a large department store and further refined his customer service skills.
In 1980, Fred took a major entrepreneurial step by opening his own jewelry store, Cherry Hill Gold and Silver, located on Chestnut Street in Philadelphia. After several successful years as a business owner, he closed the Philadelphia location in 1986 and relocated to Cherry Hill, where he joined his wife Sandy at Berman Jewelers, continuing his lifelong commitment to the jewelry profession.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Fred is deeply involved in his community. He is a Mason and an active member of the Porsche Club of America, the Shriners, and the South Jersey Men’s Club. Through his Masonic involvement, he has supported numerous charitable causes. Fred also has a passion for the arts, particularly theater, and can often be found in New York City enjoying a Broadway show.
